Fireside Chat with Paige Craig

Paige Craig is the founder and Managing Partner at Arena Ventures, investing in early stage software startups and late-stage tech companies. Arena takes a unique approach to investing and allows existing angel investors and new investors to invest alongside every deal they lead – as a former angel Paige is on a mission to educate, support and inspire thousands of new investors to join him in changing the world one startup at a time. Paige focuses on finding brilliant, driven founders and backing them up in every way possible. He advocates a “Think Big / Execute Small” approach: he loves massive visions and unique ideas being led by founders who’ve demonstrated a consistent ability to solve problems and deliver meaningful results rapidly under adverse conditions. Prior to founding Arena, Paige was one of the most active and successful angel investors in the US and began his career by discovering Airbnb in 2008 and later losing that deal to Y Combinator. This brief setback only inspired Paige to work harder, faster and smarter; over the following seven years he nurtured a massive network across the US and spent his time in the trenches helping founders with vision, fundraising, team-building, product strategy, marketing, sales, partnerships and whatever else he could do to give his founders an advantage. Over the course of six years and 100 investments later, his portfolio includes Lyft, Twitter, Postmates, Zenpayroll, Angellist, Wish.com, Styleseat and includes over 20 exits to companies that include Apple, Google, Twitter and many more. Prior to investing Paige spent the first 16 years of his life in the Army, U.S. Marine Corps, US Intelligence Community and later started a large private military company leading and executing complex operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and other exciting destinations. When he’s not investing Paige enjoys the great outdoors – snowboarding, SCUBA, climbing, and adventuring to places with a high pucker factor. To learn more visit www.ArenaVC.com
